Tausende europäische Kommunen und Regionen nehmen die Energiewende selbst in die Hand. In Griechenland wird sich dieser Trend in den kommenden Jahren voraussichtlich beschleunigen. Im Rahmen der 8. Deutsch-Griechischen Versammlung veranstalten wir am 2. November ein Werkstattgespräch über die Rolle der Kommunen bei der Beschleunigung der dezentralen Energiewende.

This documentary explores how a new generation of cooperatives is formed in the wider region of Karditsa Greece. The documentary presents the new initiatives being formed and the ecosystem they are trying to develop.

Cities can be a hotbed of innovation. They are big enough to try out new ideas on a large scale, but small enough to brush them aside if they do not work out.

How do we inform citizens about setting up an energy cooperative? What training needs arise as citizens become prosumers? These are some of the questions that will be discussed at the workshop "Setting up and strenthening of energy cooperatives in Greece" that will be held on Friday 1 December, in Athens. 

The documentary "Developing the social economy in karditsa: A Social Ecosystem" explores the historical context of the development of cooperatives in the region, the gradual depreciation and the recent development of an ecosystem of cooperatives and social enterprises today. It combines material from interviews with members of the social economy and members of the wider academic community and support structures.
