Social Solidarity Economy

The second of a series of seminars with the title "Setting up a social enterprise", is organized by the Ecological Movement of Thessaloniki and the Heinrich Böll Foundation Greece next March. The seminar aims to contribute to the development of social economy through the creation of viable cooperative enterprises in Greece.

The numerous entities of social economy and entrepreneurship who participated and collaborated in the Social Entrepreneurship Forum, 20-21 November 2014, in Athens, representing the diversity of social economy, confirmed their belief that a different, social and solidarity economy exists and is the answer to the multifaceted Greek and European crisis.

The Social Entrepreneurship Forum 2014 takes place on 20 - 21 November at Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens under the framework of the Social Entrepreneurship Week Greece. It aims to strengthen the social and cooperative economy and to promote its impact on the local economy and community with the support of the regional and local authorities.

The documentary displays the impressive range of sectors and forms of common good-oriented cooperatives and conveys an impression about this sector’s economic significance in Europe.
