Giorgos Melissourgos holds a B.Sc. in Accounting & Finance from the University of Macedonia, Greece, a M.Sc. in Social Solidarity Economy (SSE) from Hellenic Open University, while he is currently a PhD student in the department of Political Sciences of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
His work experience includes positions in project and/or financial management in NGOs and SSE initiatives, both in Greece and abroad. Since 2017, he had been frequently collaborating with Heinrich Böll Stiftung Thessaloniki Office – Greece in educational projects regarding SSE, such as Educational Platform for SSE // kalomathe.gr, before he joined the team as Coordinator of the Social Solidarity Economy Program in February 2021.
His interests include (not in an order of priorities) listening to and discovering new music, community economies, travelling, contemporary political theory, cooking while using his grandma’s cuisine as an inspiration, degrowth and dining with friends.
