Dr. Asterios Tsioumanis was born in Serres, Greece. He has studied at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, holding bachelor degrees on Agricultural Engineering and Agricultural Economics, an MSc on International, Agricultural, and Food Marketing and a PhD exploring public perceptions towards applications of modern biotechnology in a cross-cultural European context. He has teaching experience from various academic institutions in Greece, has presented academic papers in a multitude of academic conferences and has participated in research projects at national and European levels. For the last seven years, he works as a writer/editor/team leader for the International Institute on Sustainable Development Reporting Services. He is a core member of the Transdisciplinary Institute for Environmental and Social Sciences.
