Vasilis Sotiropoulos was born in Athens in 1978. He studied law at the University of Athens and is an attorney-at-law. He is also the author of legal books and three novels. In 2012, he was elected with an increased majority Ombudsman of the City of Athens, while three years later he was elected to the same position in the Region of Attica. He served as a deputy member of the National Human Rights Commission. In 2021, he was awarded the Athens Academy Prize for the study "Free cohabitation (unmarried and cohabiting) in a comparative examination". The work is published under the title "Free Symbiosis - the empire of consensus", by Polis Publications (2022). "The Secret Award" will be published as a novel in 2023.
