Sofia Dona is an artist and architect. In 2023 she was a resident at the Onassis AiR program and in 2020 an ARTWORKS fellow supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. In 2018 she was awarded the City of Munich Prize for Architecture (Förderpreis für Architektur 2018 der Landeshauptstadt München) and in 2015 the Fulbright scholarship for visual artists. Her work has been exhibited in various spaces such as the Gropius Haus of the Bauhaus foundation in Dessau (2021), the Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart (2020), the Instituto Municipal de Arte y Cultura in Tijuana (2019), the nGbK in Berlin (2017), the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Torino (2016) and the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens (2013). As a member of the group Aphrodite* she has co-curated the queer-feminist festival ‘Aphrodite*’ (2018, 2019 and 2020). As a member of the Errands group she has participated in exhibitions such as the 2nd Athens Biennial (2009), the 7th Sao Paulo Biennial of Architecture (2007) and the 1st Istanbul Design Biennial (2012). Since 2022 she has been a member of Nionia Films, which aims to create a queer feminist film archive in Athens.
