Dr. Meriç Vedia Özgüneş holds a PhD in political science in the field of human rights. She has more than 18 years of experience working on research, programme design and implementation in Greece, Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Israel and oPT. Her field of experience primarily focuses on human rights, social inclusion and integration of vulnerable groups. More recently, she has worked as coordinator for an EU URBACT programme supporting the Municipality of Thessaloniki to develop their Integrated Action Plan for the Integration of Migrants and Refugees. She is currently in charge of programming and policy development in the field of right to housing at the Major Development Agency of Thessaloniki.
