Lea Rau works as Migration Policy Officer at the Berlin Governance Platform where she is responsible for the communication and advocacy work around the projects “Re:Match – Relocation via Matching” and “Cities4Refugees”. With the goal of a human rights-based EU migration policy, she is particularly interested in promoting cross-organisational and cross-level cooperation and forging alliances. Before joining the Berlin Governance Platform, Lea worked for GIZ and Amnesty International Germany as well as independently in the fields of political education on civil sea rescue, development cooperation and security policy. Through her voluntary work on land for civil sea rescue and at the Greek external border, she can contribute important practical insights to her work that strengthen her commitment to connecting the local level to the externalization discourses.
