Carolina Perpiñá Castillo, PhD, works as a territorial and geospatial analyst at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre in Ispra (Italy) at the Urban and Territorial Development unit (B.3) since 2012. She is particularly focused on the development of the Land Use modelling platform (LUISA) under EU alternative scenarios, especially for territorial impact assessment and policy analysis in different areas such as agriculture, land degradation, renewable energy, population dynamics, rural development, etc. During the last years, she has been involved on the development and analysis of rural-related indicators giving scientific and policy support to different DGs in demography, digitalisation, urban-rural interactions including different regional typologies under the framework of the EU Rural Observatory. She also leads different city activities in the framework of the Community of Practices on Cities of the Knowledge Centre for Territorial Policies.
