Director of the Laboratory of Demographic and Social Analyses (LDSA) since 1998. Scientific responsible of the research project “Demographic Imperatives in Research and Practices in Greece”, funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (2021-2023). President since 2007 of the international Association Demobalk. Author, co-author or editor of books about demographic developments in Greece and the Balkans and of papers, articles and texts in collective volumes which treat issues of demographic policy, migration, fertility-nuptiality, population projections (as well as spatial dimensions of demographic phenomena) in Greece and in the other Balkan countries.
