Graciela Hijar-Pfenning

Graciela Hijar-Pfenning (she/her) is a Peruvian International Development professional with 10 years of experience in climate finance, gender equality and sustainable agriculture. Currently living in Germany, she works as a Consultant for the Adaptation Fund (World Bank Group), strengthening quality, compliance and gender responsiveness of climate adaptation projects worldwide. Her work covers capacity building, portfolio review, and compliance of social and environmental safeguards. 

Prior to this, she has worked at the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), as well as the Peruvian government and civil society. Moreover, she holds a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Arts in International Relations from Syracuse University (United States), and a Bachelor of Law from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru. 

Beyond her professional work, she is passionate about reading, long walks in nature, and exploring the intersections between sustainability, social justice, and community resilience.
