After two intensive days of discussing migration and asylum issues, we invite all congress participants to join us for a closing event: a street concert of Greek traditional songs – a music that goes back centuries and converses with other musical traditions of the wider Mediterranean region, which has always been a meeting point of cultures and peoples.
The music is performed by Vasso Vassiliadou, a singer well known and loved in Thessaloniki, with a band of three talented young musicians, Thanasis Papagiannis - clarinet, Manolis Arhontoulis - laouto, and Christos Poulios - violin.
Vasso Vassiliadou is a songwriter based in Thessaloniki, who for the last 14 years has been singing in venues in the city and beyond. She has participated in large and small festivals, with programmes of traditional, Asia Minor, rembetiko and modern-folk songs as well as her own songs from her first personal album "Valsamo".
