Nicolae Ștefănuță is a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) affiliated with the Greens/Europe Free Alliance group. He holds full membership in the Committee on Budgets and the Subcommittee on Public Health. Additionally, he serves as a substitute member in the Committee on Environment, Public Health, and Food Safety and the Committee on Transport and Tourism.
Furthermore, Nicolae is a member of two parliamentary delegations: the Delegation to the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee and the Delegation for relations with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
His areas of interest as an MEP encompass climate change, foreign policy, security, public health, the European budget, and European rights.
Nicolae Ștefănuță holds a Master of Policy Management degree from Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy. He earned his bachelor's degree in economics in Timișoara, Romania, and completed a master's program in Advanced International Studies at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, Austria, as well as European Studies at the University of Vienna.
He initiated his professional career at the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After Romania's accession to the European Union in 2007, Nicolae transitioned to work within the European Parliament, focusing on various public policy areas such as budget and agriculture policy. Additionally, he played a role in Transatlantic relations for the European Parliament's Delegation for relations with the United States.
