Feminist mapping: The experience from the “Ioannina: Bridges of Participation” project
Are cities built to serve everyone’s needs? Does contemporary urban (re)planning offer an environment that is conducive to women’s mobility and everyday life? Urbana and the Heinrich Böll Foundation’s project “Ioannina: Bridges of Participation” focuses on women and LGBTQ+ people whose needs in the city have been neglected. The aim of this action was to highlight, through participatory processes, the everyday experiences of these people as shaped by the contemporary urban environment of Ioannina. The publication “Feminist Mapping: The experience of ‘Ioannina: Bridges of Participation’ project” captures the collective experiences in the city from a gender perspective, offering a framework for practical and political action.
