Social economy and social entrepreneurship require the active involvement of stakeholders in the shaping of ongoing developments at international, European and national level with regard to the policy and legislative framework, as well as other social and financial matters. Claiming our role as shape-makers of the future of social economy and social entrepreneurship is the primary goal of the Social Entrepreneurship Forum that will take place on 25 - 27 November in Athens, at the Agricultural University of Athens and the Impact Hub Athens, following the events of 2014 and 2015.
The Social Entrepreneurship Forum is an open platform of cooperation for the promotion of social entrepreneurship on the basis of agreed values, principles and views. It was created in 2014 with a view to establish fruitful dialog between actors within the social economy and entrepreneurship field as well as with the local society regarding the need to create a supportive ecosystem, its characteristics and tools it should posses for the development and self-organization of social enterprises. In close cooperation and in a participatory way, we have expressed our views in the Declarations of the Forum of 2014 and that of 2015. In addition we have already worked out and agreed on a Code of Conduct for Social Enterprises and have co-organised regional forums at local level (Karditsa, Thessaloniki, Kozani), together with local actors, apart from the central annual Forum in Athens.
Social enterprises regardless of legal form, cooperatives, actors and stakeholders are invited to participate actively in the works of the three-day event, given the fact that workshops and interactive discussions take up a great part of the program with the goal to promote the exchange of ideas and the collaborative dialogue. Summing up the Social Entrepreneurship Forum 2016 will focus on critical issues such as:
- Social economy and social entrepreneurship in Greece; The next day and how is it shaped.
- Building the ecosystem of social enterprises.
- Social impact.
- Planning supporting centers.
- Create a market and financial tools by and for the social enterprises.
- Networking of initiatives and social enterprises that seek to contribute to various aspects of the refugee problem, particularly in social integration.
The last day of the event, Sunday 27 November 2016 will be dedicated to the contribution of social entrepreneurship in the social and occupational integration of refugees.
This year the Social Entrepreneurship Forum will be carried out in two venues:
- From Friday 25.11 to Saturday 26.11 (until 18:30) at the Agricultural University of Athens (Iera Odos 75 Str)
- From Saturday 16.11 (from 19:30) and Sunday 27.11 at the Impact Hub Athens (Karaiskaki 28, Psyri)
