In his recent work, the documentary Re:Union, director Gabriel Tsafka delivers a portrait of a new generation of migrants. Driven by his own experience as a young Greek citizen who left for Denmark in the midst of the financial crisis, Tsafka explores what migration and Europe mean for the protagonists of his documentary.
In his own words, director Gabriel Tsafka hopes "that the film will be able to open a dialogue for a brighter European future: young and strong!". And this is exactly what happened during the preview screening that took place on the first day of the European Youth Dialogue 2014, in May in Thessaloniki, among young Europeans with regard to their future as well as the future of Europe, migration and mobility, their professional and personal life aspirations. The discussion continued in the workshop “From my story to our history” which focused on the mobility of the young Southern Europeans to Central and North Europe and resulted in the establishment of the online platform Reclaim our Future in an effort to bring together the views of young Europeans, regardless of whether they decide to pursuit their future in their own country or abroad.
