Nikolaos Gaitenidis is an Adjunct Lecturer and a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Political Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He holds a degree in International and European, Political and Economic Studies from the University of Macedonia, an LL.M. in European Law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and a Ph.D. (2015) in International and European Studies from the University of Macedonia.

Between 2016 and 2021, he worked as a researcher and associate at the Centre of International and European Economic Law (CIEEL), where he managed research and institutional capacity-building programmes. He has provided scientific expertise to the Greek Ministry of Justice (2020) and the Labour Institute of the Greek General Confederation of Labour (INE/GSEE) (2021–2023). He has designed and implemented numerous European-funded projects, including Erasmus+, Jean Monnet, JUSTICE, EuropeAid, and Twinning programmes.

He has taught courses in human rights, European Union law, and European studies at the University of Macedonia, Panteion University, Democritus University of Thrace, and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

His research interests and publications focus on European Union governance, human rights, sustainability and ESG regulation, strategic autonomy and industrial policy, digital governance, equality and anti-discrimination, and the external dimension of EU regulation.
