Peer-to-peer School Mediation ARTICLE Despite efforts to reduce the violence, conflict, aggression in schools, an increased number of such cases continues to be recorded. The mediation of coevals, i.e. the education of same-age pupils to manage in-school conflicts, is a method applied systematically with impressive results in schools abroad. The School mediation guidbook is a practical tool for the prevention and peaceful management of conflicts, when they arise. The publication is available only in Greek.
Education for democracy EDUCATIONAL VISIT School principals and teachers from Athens, Thessaloniki, Edessa and representatives of organizations active in the educational field in schools and the Councils of Migrants' Integration paid a visit to Berlin in order to get informed on actions and educational programmes of german schools in encountering discriminations and racism.
Schools for Change ARTICLE Within the “Schools for Change” project are organized training workshops on human rights with the participation of students in primary, secondary and high schools. The project aims to sensitize teachers and students on human rights and gender equality issues in order to combat all forms of discrimination. This could be achieved through the development of the students’ personal, social and learning skills in order to create a democratic and proper school that, through its cooperation with civil society, encourages students to take action to tackle discrimination and exclusion in schools and every social environment.
